This painting is from a private collection in the Lake District, where it has resided since 1996. It was purchased by the previous owner's family from an exhibition (see original brochure) held by the Peter Howarth Gallery - a very reputable dealer mainly in watercolours over many years. This watercolour is in excellent condition with strong colours, and very well framed in a washline mount. A busy and historic scene, this is an excellent example of the artist's wonderful abilities.
