Johann Oberer (c.1790-c.1840)
Early and quite rare, German artist. Painted very fine still lifes of flowers and fruit with butterflies, usually on a ledge in the Dutch style. The oils which appeared at auction were all of an almost miniature size, but the watercolour/gouache examples are much larger.
