One of two D T Robertson paintings listed on our website, this one being a very collectable, impressionistic winter scene - always a popular subject.
Originally painted as a set of the four seasons, we have only been able to acquire 'Winter' and 'Spring' from a private source. In the original frame, which we assume was provided by George Hughes of Newcastle as the partner 'Spring', bears his label, together with that of The Laing Art Gallery and numbered 2.
This may have been No. 1 of 2 but there are no labels to reverse.
