An impressive watercolour of the view across the lake to Borrowdale in bright morning sunshine, the fells reflected on the surface of a still Derwentwater. Larger than many Ed Thompson watercolours and presented here in its orginal frame with title label verso. Fresh to the market from a private collection held for over eighty years. Originally bought by a Preston potato farmer (who acquired seven on holidays in the Lake District) and passed down through two generations. Signed, lower left.
