Joseph Dixon Clark (1849-1944)A painter in oils of landscapes with cattle and rural activities, Dixon Clark lived and worked in Blaydon and Whickham, Durham, near Newcastle, for several years, contributing 5 of his works to the Royal Academy between 1890 and 1902. He frequently exhibited his work at the Gateshead photographers' shop run by his 2 sons. One of these sons was John Clark, painter of miniatures.
