Elliot H Marten (fl. 1886-1901)

Of Australian descent, Martin painted commonly in and around the South Coast of Britain but for some time had a studio in Hawick in the Lake District. He had a relatively short career probably due to going to Australian shores, but his paintings are generally of an excellent quality and his soft palette is very recognisable.
