George Vicat Cole RA (1833-1893)

George Vicat Cole was a renowned Victorian landscape painter born in Portsmouth. He sent his first picture for exhibition in London in 1852. Exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1853 to 1892. Especially fond of views of the Thames but painted throughout England, Wales and Scotland.
